Spend Your Vacation on a Hawaii Surf Beach

A Hawaii cruise vacation might suit your purposes if you are an older person who just wants to spend your time relaxing and enjoying the good weather. However, if you are a young, active individual with a strong sense of adventure perhaps you would prefer to spend your vacation on a Hawaii surf beach. Surfing is a significant part of Hawaiian culture and it used to be the chosen sport of Polynesian royalty. It began to gain widespread popularity in the 1920s and now thousands of people visit the Hawaii surf beaches every year.

Suitable For All Levels Of Expertise

You do not have to be an expert surfer to spend your vacation on a Hawaii surf beach. If you are a beginner you can simply choose a Hawaii surf beach where the waves are gentler. For instance Waikiki beach has gentle surf all year round and is therefore appropriate for beginners. There are also beaches with massive waves for more proficient surfers who are looking for something more challenging. If your surfing is at an intermediate level look for a beach which has surf that is somewhere in-between the two extremes.

Choose According To The Season

Which Hawaii surf beach should you choose for your vacation? The answer to that question depends on the time of year that you will be taking your trip. If you are planning your trip during the winter months than choose a Hawaii surf beach on one of the northern shores. During these months storms up in Alaska send the biggest waves to the northern beaches of Hawaii. If you are planning your trip at some point in the spring or summer months then you had best head to the southern shores. The southern beaches see the best wave action during these months because of storms in the southern Pacific ocean.

More Than Just Surfing

You can have a great deal of fun on a Hawaii surf beach. Nevertheless if all you do is surf then you may begin to feel slightly bored of it after a while. Fortunately there is more to Hawaii than just surfing. The Hawaiian islands have an interesting culture and majestic scenery. You can spend some of your time visiting the sites, exploring the culture and shopping. You may also wish to try other activities such as boating, scuba diving, boogie boarding, golfing, cycling, hiking, horse riding, swimming or snorkeling. If you have had enough activity for one day you could relax and try the local cuisine at a restaurant or laze on a hammock with a cocktail and a good book.
